Atlas Gutter Replacement: The Dallas Owner’s Guide

Atlas gutter replacement in Dallas typically runs $8 to $14 per linear foot installed, including materials, labor, and disposal of the old runs. Most single-story homes fall between $1,200 and $2,800 total depending on roofline length, story height, and whether fascia board repair is needed underneath. We stock Atlas-compatible aluminum and steel gutter profiles on our trucks, and in most cases we can complete the swap the same week you call.

How owners usually find us: a section of gutter pulls loose after a North Texas windstorm, water starts spilling over the edge during heavy rain, or the gutters are so dented from hail that they no longer channel water to the downspouts. Sometimes it’s a rust-through at the seam. The symptom picture is usually obvious once you look up. The fix is straightforward if the part is matched correctly.

Which Atlas Models This Applies To

Atlas manufactures gutter systems in two main profiles: the standard K-style, which is the 5-inch and 6-inch profile you see on most Dallas homes built after 1990, and a half-round profile used on older craftsman and bungalow-style houses in neighborhoods like Lakewood and the M Streets. The K-style comes in 5-inch and 6-inch widths, and the wider 6-inch is common on homes with steep roof pitches or heavier tree cover. Getting the width right matters: a 5-inch gutter will overflow on a roof that needs 6-inch capacity, and it looks undersized even when it works.

If you’re replacing a section rather than the full run, check the inside of the gutter for a stamped manufacturer mark or measure the top opening across. The difference between 5-inch and 6-inch is obvious with a tape measure. For Atlas specifically, the K-style profile uses a standard .027-gauge aluminum on residential work. We carry both OEM Atlas sections and aftermarket equivalents that match the profile and gauge. The aftermarket saves money and performs the same when the gauge and profile match. The one compatibility gotcha: Atlas half-round gutters use a different hanger bracket spacing than K-style, so if you have half-round, the hangers must be sourced to match or the sections will sag within two years. We check this on site before quoting anything.

Signs Your Atlas Gutter Replacement Is Failing

Most gutter failures show themselves in predictable ways. Here’s what we see on Dallas homes:

  • Water spilling over the front edge during rain. The gutter is either undersized for the roof area, pitched wrong, or blocked. In Atlas K-style runs we often find the original hangers have pulled loose from the fascia after years of thermal expansion cycles.
  • Sections pulling away from the roofline. The hanger spikes or screws have lost grip in the fascia board. On older Dallas homes, the fascia itself is often rotting behind the gutter, which means the board needs replacing before rehanging anything.
  • Visible seam separation at joints. Aluminum gutters expand and contract with temperature swings. Dallas sees enough of a range between January and August that seams sealed years ago eventually split. Water then drips at the corners.
  • Rust at the end caps or downspout elbows. Even aluminum gutters use some steel fasteners and end caps that corrode over time. Once rust starts at an end cap, the section is on borrowed time.
  • Mildew or water staining on exterior walls below the roofline. Water is bypassing the gutter entirely or leaking from failed joints and running down the brick or siding. Left alone, this starts foundation erosion along the drip line.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Atlas-compatible aluminum K-style gutter replacement in Dallas, expect $8 to $14 per linear foot installed. That’s the honest range. The lower end covers single-story homes with easy access and no underlying damage. The higher end covers two-story work, steep pitches, or any fascia board replacement. Most single-family jobs in neighborhoods like Preston Hollow, Casa View, or Oak Cliff land in the $1,500 to $2,500 range all-in.

Every quote is written, line by line, before any work starts. You’ll see the material cost, the labor, the downspout count, and the disposal fee. The price on that paper does not move. Nothing gets added at the door. The installation includes new hangers spaced to Atlas spec, seam sealing, and proper pitch so water actually drains to the downspouts. All replacement work is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise: one full year in writing, and if a section fails within that period, we come back and fix it at no charge. That includes the return visit.

DIY or Call Us?

Gutter replacement is one of the safer roofing-related jobs a homeowner can attempt, but it’s not painless. The work involves ladders, cutting metal, and working at eave height, which is where most home gutter injuries happen. A 20-foot extension ladder on uneven Dallas soil is a real hazard. If you’re comfortable on a ladder and have a second person to help, replacing a single straight section is doable with the right tools.

Where DIY goes wrong: matching the correct profile and gauge, getting the pitch right so water doesn’t pool, and properly sealing seams. Pooling water in a 6-foot gutter section means algae, mosquitoes, and rust in one season. We’ve replaced plenty of homeowner-installed sections that failed within a year because the pitch was flat. If the job is more than one section, or the fascia needs repair, call us at (903) 499-4441. We’ll come out, measure, and hand you a written price. No guesswork.
