Atlas Shingle Repair: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Atlas-compatible shingle repair materials across Dallas, with most shingle repairs running $325 to $675 installed depending on the number of shingles, roof pitch, and whether flashing or underlayment needs attention too. Most Atlas shingle repairs we complete take one visit, often the same day we inspect. You typically discover a failed Atlas shingle after a North Texas windstorm or hailstorm, when you spot granules in the gutter, a shingle flap lifted on the roof edge, or a water stain working its way across the ceiling. By then, the shingle has already stopped doing its job. Our trucks carry a range of Atlas shingle profiles and matching colors, and we can lay hands on the rest quickly.
Which Atlas Models This Applies To
Atlas shingle repair covers the main residential lines you see on Dallas roofs: the Pinnacle and Pinnacle Pristine series (their high-tier architectural shingles), the StormMaster line (including StormMaster Slate and StormMaster Shake, popular after hail seasons), and the GlassMaster and Castlebrook series common on mid-range builds. Identification matters because Atlas color codes are specific. The shingle wrapper label carries the production date and color code, but if you don’t have a wrapper left over, we match by taking a shingle sample from the roof and comparing size, exposure, shadow band, and granule color against Atlas swatches in daylight, not in the garage. A big compatibility gotcha with Atlas: Pinnacle shingles have a wider exposure and a different butt profile than Atlas’ Starter line or their older discontinued Chalet series. Someone grabbing “any architectural shingle” off a supply shelf ends up with a visible pattern break that Dallas sun makes obvious within a year. Atlas also grades for wind and impact differently by series; the StormMaster products carry a Class 4 hail impact rating, while GlassMaster runs Class 3. For Dallas weather, Class 4 is worth the extra cost when a hailstorm rolls through, so we recommend matching your repair to the same Atlas series rather than mixing classes.
OEM vs aftermarket when it comes to Atlas shingle repair is straightforward for us. Atlas shingles are still in production and available. We use Atlas product on Atlas roofs because color, granule blend, and warranty stay consistent. There are aftermarket “match” shingles from other manufacturers that look close at the gutter line but fade differently under Texas UV. We won’t use them on an Atlas roof. If your Atlas line is discontinued, we’ll say so and give you two honest options: a close Atlas current-series match, or a larger replacement section where the difference disappears behind a ridge or valley.
Brennan Roofing is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Atlas. We stock Atlas-compatible materials because they hold up well in North Texas, and because enough Dallas homes carry Atlas shingles that we’d rather have the right match on the truck than make a customer wait.

Signs Your Atlas Shingle Repair Is Failing
- Granules in the gutter or at the downspout. Atlas shingles shed some granules early in their life, but a steady accumulation, especially after a storm, means the fiberglass mat is oxidizing and the shingle is losing its weather barrier.
- Lifted or flapping shingle tabs. The adhesive strip on the underside of the shingle has let go. On exposed west and south slopes in Dallas, adhesive failure is common by year eight or ten because the sun bakes the sealant until it’s brittle.
- Water staining on ceilings or around vents. When an Atlas shingle slips, tears, or loses its seal, water works down through the decking and travels along joists before it shows up as a stain. By the time you see the stain, the leak has usually been active for weeks.
- Curling at the corners or edges. This is a sign the shingle’s asphalt layer is drying out. Dallas’ heat cycle, cold nights and hot afternoons, can curl a failing Atlas shingle within a single season once the mat starts to wear through.
- Bare spots where granules used to be. Walk the yard after a hailstorm and look for shingle patches that are smooth and dark. Hail knocks the granules off, and once the asphalt is exposed, UV breaks it down fast.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a typical Atlas shingle repair in Dallas, we price the job in three parts: replacing the failed shingles, repairing any torn underlayment or damaged decking, and sealing the repair so it matches the surrounding roof. A small repair of three to six shingles runs $325 to $425. A larger repair across two or three roof facets, or one that includes replacing a vent boot or resealing a valley, runs $500 to $675. Steep roofs, two-story homes, and areas with heavy tree cover push toward the higher end because of access and labor time. We give you the price in writing before any work starts, and that number doesn’t move at the door. Every Atlas repair is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise, in writing, for one full year, and we come back at no charge if it fails within that period.
DIY or Call Us?
Some things you can check safely from the ground. Binoculars work well for spotting lifted tabs, curled edges, or bare spots after a storm. You can check gutters and downspouts for granule buildup without getting on a ladder. We’d rather you stay off the roof. Shingle repair on a Dallas roof means standing on a sloped surface, handling nails, and working around flashings and vent pipes, and it’s easy for a homeowner to tear a shingle underneath the one they’re replacing or to break a seal on shingles that weren’t failing. Those mistakes turn a $400 repair into a bigger one. When you call (903) 499-4441, we’ll send a technician who does this every week, with the right Atlas match on the truck, and the price in writing before any work starts.
FAQs
Atlas architectural shingles typically last 20 to 25 years in Dallas, though storm history and roof slope play a big role. Hail and wind events shorten that on exposed slopes, while shaded north slopes tend to last longer.
Yes, most of the time. If the shingle is torn, lifted, or missing granules in one area, a targeted repair works. If the shingle is brittle across the whole field or the mat is exposed in multiple places, we’ll tell you it’s time for a larger replacement rather than piecemeal patching. Call (903) 499-4441 for an exact assessment and a written repair quote.
Most Atlas shingle repairs take one to three hours on site, depending on the number of shingles and roof access. We keep the work area clean and haul away old shingle material when we leave.
Yes. We carry common Atlas colors and profiles from the Pinnacle, StormMaster, and GlassMaster lines, and we can order less common colors quickly. We also work with GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed, so if your roof turns out to be a different manufacturer than you thought, we match it the same day.
