CertainTeed Gutter Replacement: The Dallas Owner’s Guide

We stock and install CertainTeed-compatible gutter replacement in Dallas, with typical installed pricing running $8 to $14 per linear foot for standard 5-inch aluminum sections, which puts most single-story homes between $950 and $2,400 all-in. We keep common CertainTeed profiles on the truck, so a straightforward swap is usually done in half a day. Most owners find us after a hailstorm or a gutter that pulled loose at the fascia, and by then the damage has usually been visible from the ground for weeks. Travis Oakley will tell you the same thing he tells every Dallas homeowner: gutters fail quietly until they don’t, and a sagging run against a North Texas roofline is doing more work than it looks like.

Which CertainTeed Models This Applies To

CertainTeed’s gutter line in the Dallas market breaks into two main groups: 5-inch K-style aluminum in the standard residential profile, and 6-inch K-style for steep-pitch or tile roofs that shed water faster. The material spec that matters is aluminum thickness; CertainTeed’s better runs use .027-gauge coil, while cheaper builder-grade lines run .019 or .024. Thinner coil kinks at the hanger and is the first thing we replace on homes built fast in the 2000s. If you still have the original install paperwork, the profile code is printed on it, but honestly, most owners don’t, and we measure on-site. One gotcha we see regularly in Dallas: CertainTeed’s 5-inch profile has a slightly deeper trough than some aftermarket dies, so a generic box-store downspout will fit but leak at the outlet seam if it’s not crimped properly. We use either OEM CertainTeed stock or a matched aftermarket profile with the same depth and hanger spacing. For most Dallas homes, aftermarket matched is identical in function and slightly cheaper. For HOA-governed neighborhoods in Plano or Frisco that specify CertainTeed by name, we order OEM so the paperwork stays clean.

Signs Your CertainTeed Gutter Replacement Is Failing

  • Visible sag or pull-away at the fascia screws. The gutter’s pulling loose because the screw holes in the aluminum have wallowed out, usually after years of expansion and contraction in Dallas heat. Tightening the screw doesn’t fix it; the hole is now oval, and water tracks behind the gutter.
  • Water cascading over the front lip in a heavy rain. Your gutters aren’t overflowing because they’re dirty. The outlet or downspout is undersized for the roof area, or the run has settled out of pitch. North Dallas clay soil shifts, and that shift takes gutter pitch with it.
  • Rust streaks or pinholes at the end caps. CertainTeed’s aluminum is coated, but end caps trap standing water and debris. Once the factory seal at the cap fails, water sits there every rain, and you get the orange line down the brick or siding.
  • Standing water in the trough three days after rain. That’s a pitch failure, not a material failure. It means the run has flattened or reversed over time. Mosquitoes in Dallas breed in that water faster than most people realize.
  • Fascia board softening or paint peeling below the drip edge. The gutter is catching water but letting it out at the back, behind the trough. The board behind the gutter is wet, and in Dallas heat that wet wood rot accelerates.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Dallas single-story homes, a full gutter replacement runs $8 to $14 per linear foot installed. That includes removing the old run, checking the fascia and drip edge, hanging new CertainTeed-compatible sections, sealing end caps and outlets, and hauling off the old material. Two-story homes push the high end because of ladder work and safety setup. Steep-pitch roofs in neighborhoods like Lakewood or Kessler Park add labor time, and homes with more than four downspout drops add material cost. Every estimate we write lists the per-foot material price, the labor, and the removal separately, on paper, before any work starts. That number does not change at the door. The work itself is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: in writing, for one full year, and we come back at no charge if a hanger pulls loose or a seam leaks.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely clean your gutters, check for standing water, and look at the hanger spacing from the ground. What you shouldn’t do is get on a ladder and try to re-pitch a run or replace a section yourself. Gutter work means working at roofline height, often from a ladder against fascia that’s already soft, and a full trough of wet leaves weighs more than a bag of concrete. We’ve seen the results of a ladder kick-out on a wet Dallas morning, and it’s not worth the $300 someone saved. That said, if you want to check your own work before you call, look at the screw pattern: hangers should be every 24 to 32 inches, and no section should flex when you press on it. This is also the moment to be honest about whether the roofline itself is shedding water correctly. A roof either keeps water out or it doesn’t, everything else is just conversation. If the gutter has pulled loose and taken part of the drip edge with it, you need a roofer, not a handyman. Call us at (903) 499-4441 and we’ll get eyes on it.
